Energy or Process Assessments

1. Simple Assessment

A simple assessment allows you to focus on discovering inefficiencies. We can do a few calcs, check some numbers, and make estimates of potential benefits; then you can determine the next best step to maximize your benefits.

What do you have?

Start simple. Equipment supports your process. An inventory of that equipment, and measurements of how it operates goes a long way to determine what you do next.

What do you do?

Understanding what you do helps us focus on what is important to you. We gain familiarity with your system to help determine the best opportunities for optimization.

How do you do it?

Sometimes, how you do it is what differentiates you from your competition. Othertimes, it's just the way it has always been done. Either way, we'll provide possible process improvements.

2. Intermediate Assessment

The simple assessment helped determine the best opportunities for success. An intermediate assessment moves you confidently forward to find solutions.

What are your energy costs?

Equipment uses energy and energy costs money. We measure the energy and calculate the cost. We put numbers to it so you can decide to improve, trash, or replace.

What are your production costs?

Your production uses time, resources, and energy. We find the waste and determine the cost.

How do you improve?

Now that we have a complete picture, we can give you recommendations for improvement that go beyond your base costs.

3. Complex Assessment

Sometimes you have to go deeper to unwind the mystery and help make sense of the complexity. With this insight, we guide you through the transformation for lasting results.

Best Practices

Each industry and each business need to follow the best practices. Since we have experience in many different industries and processes, we can help you determine the Best Practices for your operation with a cross pollination of ideas that leads to your success.

Persistence of Savings

Success needs to be consistent and ongoing. We will guide you to Persistence of Savings by helping you lay out a detailed plan targeted directly to your operation that sets the guidelines and keeps you in control.

Continuous Improvement

What is good today may not be what will be best for tomorrow. We must all constantly improve to keep ahead and drive success. We can work with you to develop a living plan of improvement that continually tweaks what you are doing to move forward with confidence.

Basis of Design

Basis of Design tells you what you need to do the job. It does not specify who you will buy it from, but what parameters you need to successfully implement your project. We help you determine what parameters are most important to your success. What vendors, products, or design firm you use is up to you, but the Basis of Design will allow you to compare “apples to apples.”

Basis of Design is very beneficial when your equipment crosses certain construction boundaries. One company may be supplying the device that provides the product, another the distribution of that product, and another the packaging. Each of these providers needs to know what the other is doing to put it all together. Each supplier has their own expertise, but they are not necessarily knowledgeable of the other supplier’s expertise. Basis of Design determines what is necessary to make it all function together. We bring it all together, so each knows what they need to function in harmony.

Measurement and Verification

When you take control of your energy or process, you need to know where you started and where you finished. You cannot measure success unless you measure it. what?? In the financial world, this would be called accounting and financial planning. If you know where you are at and where you want to be, then when you get there you can demonstrate how you were successful.

Measurement and Verification (M&V) gives you the tools to demonstrate success and help you plan for the future. We are certified in International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP). The purpose of IPMVP is to standardize methods of quantifying and managing how we measure and verify efficiency. It is a method of transparency in monitoring and providing data that takes the mystery out of the numbers and allows comparison to help in the processes of making informed decisions.

Energy Management

Energy management is the next step in sustaining what you have begun. This can be simple management procedures and training for your staff or it can meet the international standards of Superior Energy Performance (ISO50001). We can help you navigate and implement energy management strategies that fit your goals. We simplify the complex, so you can easily manage your energy without it distracting you from what you do best.

We understand ISO50001 and are Certified Practitioners of Energy Management Systems (CP EnMS). ISO50001 is a voluntary standard of continuous improvement that helps establish a method for building on your successes in energy management. Energy doesn’t have to be a fixed overhead. Every dollar you save is a dollar in your pocket. It has a better return on investment than nearly anything else you do.
